Five Things You May Not Know About Me

1. I love to read.

Ok, I guess all Pastors enjoy reading. It is almost mandatory that Pastors read – but I do enjoy reading more than just the latest theological best seller. I have always been an avid fan of science fiction, fantasy and horror . I read through the Lords of the rings and the Hobbit when I was 12 in about three days. My first Issac Asimov story was I, Robot and Stephen King is definitively the man when it comes to horror.

2. I went to the Methodist World Conference in England.

In 2001 I attended the World Methodist conference in Brighton Beach England. It was an ineradicable opportunity to see what Methodism was like around the world. Worship in was truly inspiring.

3. I was a page at the 2004 and 2008 General Conference.

I attended the last two General Conferences a a volunteer. It was a very worthwhile opportunity. I had the chance to see the larger church at work close up. Being a page enabled me to be on the floor and in a variety of committee meetings during the conference.

4. My wife and I had a short engagement.

We had our first date on January 27, by April I was proposed, in November we were married. It will be 24 years this November.

5.Red Velvet Cake with cream cheese dressing is my favorite!
