Community Activities

Perry Hall UMC has many Community Activities. Please click on following links to go directly to the activity of your interest.

Food Pantry ~

Perry Hall UMC has operated an emergency Food Pantry since 1982.   Our shelves are kept furnished with non-perishable food items through the warm generosity of the members of Perry Hall UMC and Camp Chapel UMC as well as local churches, schools, clubs, social organizations, businesses and individuals within the community.  The pantry is also partnered with the Maryland Food Bank.

The pantry is operated by volunteers from PHUMC and CCUMC.  Their dedication and love is what makes the pantry so successful in helping the needs of the community.

The pantry is open by appointment only  on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 9 am – 12 noon.  Families that are assisted by the pantry qualify through the Maryland Food Bank guidelines and will be given monthly appointments as needed. If you or someone you know needs the pantry’s help, please call 410-256-1897 for further information.

A family receiving help will generally receive an order that include pasta and pasta sauce, macaroni and cheese, rice or boxed potatoes,  soups, canned beans, vegetables and fruits, stew or canned chicken, tuna fish, peanut butter, jelly, dry cereal,  personal hygiene products, plus other items .  All orders are pre-bagged.

The pantry is totally reliant on donations – both monetary and physical items.  If you wish to donate grocery items donations are accepted at the pantry in a variety of ways:  There are 2 donation sites:  Giant Market at  8905 Belair Rd and at Weis Market  4126 E. Joppa Rd (drop-off bins are located by the exit doors) .  Donations can also be dropped off at the pantry on Wednesday, Fridays, and Saturdays between 9 am and 12 noon.   The food items must be in date and not opened.   All donations are accepted but the main items needed include: Cereal,  Spaghetti and Sauce,  Beans, Juice (not refrigerated), Soup, Rice, Toilet paper, Canned diced tomatoes,  Beef Stew, Canned beans,  Peanut Butter, Jelly, Shelf/Dry Milk, Canned fruit, Crackers,  Canned Vegetables, Boxed potatoes, Shampoo, Tooth paste, Soap, Clothing detergent, Roman noodles, Tuna fish, Canned chicken, Canned chili, and Canned pasta.
