Food Pantry ~
Thank You to Giant Food!!
When Giant Food a new store at 8905 Belair Road a few years ago, they selected a non-profit organization in the community to receive a donation. Our Food Pantry was selected as the recipient of $2,500 in Giant gift cards. Pastor Vic and Margaret Hubbard, Food Pantry Coordinator, received the cards at a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new store. Thank you to all who joined in the celebration!
Perry Hall UMC has operated an emergency Food Pantry since 1982. We will provide meals for 3 days, 3 meals each day, the amount of food determined by the number in the family. Our shelves are kept furnished with non-perishable, nutritious foods through the warm generosity of the members of PHUMC, and through the government program of sharing surplus foods. A typical grocery order will include spaghetti and spaghetti sauce, macaroni and cheese, soups, pork and beans, several vegetables, several fruits, stew or canned chicken, tuna fish, canned salmon, peanut butter, dry cereal, and perhaps pancake mix and syrup. We always give toilet paper, since that commodity is not covered by food stamps. Please call 410-256-1897 for further information.
The first Sunday of each month is “Feed the Hungry”. We will collect donations for our Food Pantry. Grocery carts/baskets will be set up as you come into Church from the parking lot. We would greatly appreciate any help you can give us. Any questions, please contact Margaret Hubbard at 410-931-8344.
Food items needed include: Cereal, Tuna, Spaghetti and Sauce, Beans, Juice (not refrigerated), Soup, Rice, Toilet paper (individually wrapped), canned tomatoes, Beef Stew, Baked Beans, Peanut Butter, Jelly, Shelf/Dry Milk, Canned fruit, Boxed pudding, Cake mix, Cake frosting.
